Creativity Self-Care

I have been diving into writing again and into IT as well. My goal is to increase the days that I spend time focused on writing, even if it is just for 20min. When I do manage to create a new work or add to an older work, I feel energized and more at peace. IT work is just plane fun. I am in process of fixing my home desktop. Removing the corrupt OS’s, updating and installing a new dual boot that actually has room to operate both systems.

To assist on the writing front I have joined a local writers group, called the Rainbow Writers. As the name implies it is an LGBTQIA+ friendly writers group. It doesn’t focus on queer writing, just any writing in general, regardless of how characters are oriented. Mainly it is a safe place for all orientations to write about what they are passionate about.

I am also stoked to get my computer fully functional again. Some games I am dying to try only work on Windows OS. My personal preference is Linux, because it is open source, not a memory hog, and especially not proprietary. That being said, I do need Windows to play some of my PC games that I enjoy and that my dual boot laptop cannot handle.

Little to do with Creativity, but a lot to do with self-care, I am also involved in a queer hiking group called the Rainbow Rangers. I have to laugh a little at the name, only because I am a masculine bisexual that presents straight, so the name makes me chuckle. Not in a bad way, but a fun way. I think we should have a unicorn or a my little pony as a mascot and that we need lavender and pink scouting uniforms. 😜

I am 55 year old a U.S. Navy, submarine veteran, dad, husband, and sarcasm aficionado. I also identify as a bisexual bear. The preceding is what I am, not who I am. I am me and that never changes. Everything else is fluid baby.
