Ellection 2024

Well, what a shitshow. I can’t say as I am completely shocked. I mean, I expected it to be really close. What I did not expect is his orangeness, the supreme leader of fucktardery to win by as large a margin as he did. To add salt to the gaping wound, not only did he win, but the Senate is now red and the House remained just as red as it was before. Which means not only do we have a narcissistic, racist, rapist, felon of a fascist for a president, but we have a bent congress that is more christian nationalist than democratic that will put forth anti-lgbt, anti-women’s rights, racist, and unequal legislation that the cheto-faced dipshit will rubberstamp with glee.

I am pretty fucking conservative fiscally, tempered by social liberalism. Mostly, a hardcore equalist that truly believes that in our country all citizens should have equal rights, regardless of gender, race, sex, age, orientation, or physical abilities. This is part of the reason I joined the military. I thought that it was the best way to protect our rights and way of life. I somewhat naively believed that we all did have that equality, or at least were headed there, had the potential and ability to achieve that and that we were better off in that regard than most other countries. I still believe in and defend the constitution of the United States and always will. It is the best, most versatile, and dynamic document protecting democracy there is in the world, but because of that versatility, it is vulnerable to attack.

Unfortunately, we currently have a government that is doing its hardest to twist said constitution into what they believe is best for them. I say them and I mean them. Them being the Christian Nationalists. Their agenda is rule by only white, male, straight, “christians”. Yes, christians is purposefully lower case, because their brand of Christianity is not what I believe Christ taught or wanted his followers to do. There is very little, if any, love of anyone but their own believers, and those believers better toe the line.

This battle for equality has been lost, but I refuse to give up the war. WE MUST MAKE A BETTER WORLD for our children and children of generations to come. A world of acceptance and equality! You don’t have to like everyone, but we should all be equal and have equal opportunity.

Right now, I have an internal battle going on. One with depression, disappointment, disgust of my fellow citizens, and exhaustion from a battle I thought there was a better than good chance of winning. Right now I have to rest, recuperate, and recover. I am not done, and apparently will never be done in my lifetime, but by God I will do my best to make it better.
